Clinic Policies – Appointments & Cancellations
- Patients are asked to provide at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
- Missed appointments or late cancellations may be subject to a fee.
- Repeated late cancellations may affect future bookings.
- These policies are aligned with common Alberta physiotherapy practices and fairness standards.

Billing Policy
- Direct billing is available for most major insurance providers.
- Patients remain responsible for fees not covered by insurance (e.g., co-payments, deductibles, or services outside plan limits).
- Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) and Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) clients must provide a valid claim number and insurer/adjuster details before treatment can begin.
- Private clients are welcome and provided receipts for reimbursement.

Patient Responsibilities
To ensure the best outcomes, patients are expected to:
- Attend scheduled sessions on time.
- Follow their treatment plan and home exercise program.
- Inform the clinic of any changes to health, medications, or insurance status.
- Respect staff, other clients, and clinic property.
Physiotherapy is a shared process. Active participation helps ensure fairness, faster recovery, and fewer disputes.

Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) Use Policy
- Physiotherapy Assistants (PTAs) may be involved in treatment under the direct or indirect supervision of a licensed physiotherapist.
- PTAs are delegated only tasks appropriate to their training, and the physiotherapist remains fully accountable for all treatment decisions.
- This policy follows the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta’s standards on delegation and supervision.
Virtual Care Policy
- Virtual physiotherapy (telehealth) is available where appropriate and consented to by the patient.
- All virtual care follows the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta guidelines for telehealth.
- Patients must complete a Virtual Care Consent Form before receiving services online.
- Privacy and confidentiality are maintained through secure platforms and encrypted communication methods.
